Authors and Books We Love

I love to read and I especially enjoy talking about books with members of my book club. We spend hours discussing the characters and underlining themes over peppermint tea and a biscuit (gluten free for me). 

In addition to the many fiction books we have read, we also choose to read plays, poems, biographies and even cooking books on occasion. 

One of my all time favourite books is called 'Possum Magic' by an Australian author called Mem Fox. It tells the tale of two possums searching for the cure to invisibility. I adored this book as a child and now even more since I've been away from my home country. The pictures remind me of all the bush sounds and smells, the flora and fauna and I mustn't forget the food. Pavlova.....mmm, yummy!

    My favourite book is Diary of a Wimpy Kid - Cabin Fever by an American author called Jeff Kinney.
    This is my favourite book because it is extremely hilarious and interesting.

      Hello Harshil, I've heard of the books but not read any of them myself. Do you think I would enjoy it? Or is it better suited to another audience?

    I have lots of favourite authors but my favourite is Cressida Cowell.
    She made how to Train A Dragon books.

      Well Miss Cleary I love Cressida Cowell because she belives in dragons like me , and she has Vikings in her stories and it is really cool.

    My favourite aurthor is Stacy Gregg because she is very adventurous .I really love the book mystic and the midnight ride.

      Can you tell me the titles of some books he's written. Are they all very similar or completely different, like Michael Morpurgo's books? Perhaps you could write a book review over the holidays.
